Cover Your Load!
Uncovered trucks are one of the sources of litter and debris along Humboldt roadways. Please do your part to secure and cover your load.
All Loads are Subject to Hazardous Waste Load Checking
Hazardous and other prohibited materials, as defined under California laws and regulations, may not be disposed at the Hawthorne Street Transfer Station. If hazardous materials are found in loads, the hauler is responsible for all costs associated with the removal and management of the hazardous materials. Classification of all materials are subject to Authority personnel’s discretion at the time of acceptance.
REDUCE Your Load by RECYCLING first!
HWMA offers One-Stop Services to make it convenient for you to reduce, recycle and properly dispose of materials before waste is deposited into the landfill. By separating your materials before you visit, you may also reduce YOUR cost to dispose of unwanted materials.
Recycle your California Redemption Value (CRV) beverage containers for cash. Please visit us in the Eureka Recycling Center.
General recyclable material such as newspaper, mixed office paper, cardboard, glass, metals and plastics may be dropped off in designated bins in our Eureka Recycling Center, at no charge.
Electronic wastes may not be disposed into landfills. We are happy to receive electronic wastes such as televisions, computers, phones, printers, and other electronic devices at the Eureka Recycling Center. A nominal charge may apply.
