Fluorescent Bulbs

Using fluorescent light bulbs helps our environment because they use less energy than standard incandescent bulbs. They reduce air pollution and green house gas emissions.  Additionally, they save money by saving energy… but fluorescent lights do contain small amounts of mercury and are banned from the trash or recycling bin. The HWMA Fluorescent Bulb Recycling Program allows residents to drop off of up to 10 home-generated fluorescent bulbs for free.

This free program is not available to businesses. All commercial lighting waste materials are accepted by appointment. Call the Hazardous Waste Hotline at (707)441-2005.
